UMMC now offering a medical toxicology fellowship

Dr. Laura Lee Beneke will be the program's first toxicology fellow. Laura Lee went to medical school at UMMC  and completed her emergency medicine residency in June 2022, also at UMMC. The fellowship program is two years long. We will accept a second fellow in August 2024. 

Dr. Dave Vearrier will serve as the fellowship director. Dave joined UMMC as a Professor of Emergency Medicine in 2019 and works as an emergency medicine provider and a toxicologist. After receiving his B.A. in history and psychology from the University of California-Berkeley, Dave earned his M.D. at the University of California-San Diego School of Medicine. He had emergency medicine residency training and a medical toxicology fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
